Greencoop: Leading with Innovation
GreenCoop Slovakia, the largest greenhouse tomato producer in the country, became the first commercial customer of FRAVEBOT Scout. From our very first meeting, it was evident that innovation is at the core of GreenCoop’s operations.
In its first season, FRAVEBOT Scout was implemented in
a 3,6-hectare greenhouse at the Kolárovo site in southern Slovakia. The goal? To establish a reliable yield forecasting process, consolidating data from GreenCoop’s large 20+ ha tomato production.

A Horticultural Leader in Slovakia
GreenCoop stands as a cornerstone of Slovakia’s horticultural industry, specializing in high-quality tomatoes and cucumbers. With over 20 hectares of advanced greenhouses, the company has achieved remarkable efficiency and sustainability.
Leveraging cutting-edge greenhouse technologies and the region’s geothermal energy advantage, GreenCoop ensures year-round production of premium tomatoes and cucumbers. This commitment to innovation and strong community ties has proved GreenCoop's role as a leader in the industry.
The Challenge:
Accurate Yield Forecasting
For large-scale producers like GreenCoop, accurate yield forecasting is essential yet challenging. Even slight inaccuracies can lead to overproduction resulting in surplus sales or an inability to meet contract volumes, both of which result in losses. Reliable data on future production is vital to mitigate these risks and reduce negative impacts.
Traditional methods, reliant on manual sampling, struggle to account for greenhouse-specific local variations or effectively monitor fruit ripeness at large-scale. Compounding these challenges, southern Slovakia’s climate with summer temperatures frequently exceeding 37°C affects both fruit size and ripening rates, adding variability to the production process.
The Solution:
Implementation of FRAVEBOT Scout
To address these challenges, GreenCoop partnered with us to implement FRAVEBOT Scout, overcoming the limitations of manual forecasting. This cutting-edge technology performs daily crop monitoring across the greenhouse. Each unit covers up to 5 hectares, analyzing every row for fruit volume, truss counts, fruit counts and ripeness stages (Green, Breaker, Turning, Pink, Light Red, Full Red).
The insights are accessible in real-time via the FRAVE Cloud platform, enabling growers to optimize labor planning and empowering sales managers with precise production predictions. Additionally, FRAVEBOT’s advanced AI detects fruit defects such as caterpillar damage and blossom-end rot, delivering comprehensive quality reports to ensure top-tier produce.
Results:
A Successful First Season
In its first deployment, FRAVEBOT Scout was tested in a 3,6-hectare plum tomato greenhouse. Benchmarking revealed that FRAVEBOT Scout's robotic yield forecasting was significantly more accurate than manual methods, achieving a 42% reduction in forecasting deviation between quarters. This improvement brought accuracy to an impressive range of 82% to 98% within just one season.
Beyond forecasting, FRAVEBOT Scout proved instrumental in identifying early pest and disease hotspots, detecting issues such as Botrytis-damaged stems, Powdery mildew, and Tomato Russet Mite before they spread. With FRAVEBOT Scout it is also possible to monitor symptoms of pest infestations, such as Leaf Miner, Tomato Loopers (e.g. Chrysodeixis chalcites) and Tuta absoluta.
Next Steps
Building on this success, our collaboration with GreenCoop continues. The next step is deploying FRAVEye units for automated sticky trap monitoring at the Kolárovo site. This will reduce labor costs for manual checks and increase monitoring frequency from once a week to daily reporting, further enhancing pest management and operational efficiency.
This revised version brings a structured and enthusiastic tone to the case study while maintaining clarity and precision.
